Overview
The Challenge
New Hope Chapel’s previous website had faithfully served the church for years, but it was becoming increasingly limited.
The experience was difficult to navigate — especially on mobile and tablet devices. The layout felt clunky, and the previous platform offered minimal flexibility for optimizing mobile layouts. As more members accessed the site from their phones, these limitations became more noticeable.
Additional challenges included:
An overcrowded event listing system
No clear filtering for recurring classes or specific event types
Inefficient backend management for staff
Limited flexibility for updates and communication
The church didn’t just need a new design. It needed a more adaptable digital foundation.
The Strategy
The goal was to create a modern, mobile-first website that would:
Deliver a seamless experience across desktop, tablet, and mobile
Simplify content management for staff
Improve event discovery and registrations
Provide flexibility for future growth
The focus was clarity, usability, and long-term sustainability — not just aesthetics.
Launch: A Thoughtful Rollout
The new website launched with:
Clean, intuitive navigation
Fully optimized mobile and tablet layouts
Streamlined event signup functionality
Improved backend workflows for staff
But the launch itself was handled intentionally.
Prior to the public announcement — and for several weeks following — we included a dedicated feedback form directly on the website. This allowed members to instantly report:
Confusing navigation elements
Areas needing clarification
Minor bugs or inconsistencies
General user experience suggestions
This real-time feedback loop was incredibly valuable in the first few days and weeks. It allowed us to quickly implement refinements, polish small friction points, and resolve potential long-term issues before they became persistent problems.
Rather than assuming perfection at launch, we treated it as the beginning of optimization.
One Year Later:
Measurable Growth & Refinement
A website should never remain static after launch. Over the past year, we’ve continued refining the platform based on real usage patterns and ongoing church needs.
This long-term partnership has allowed the website to adapt and improve — ensuring it continues to serve both staff and congregation effectively.
Smarter Event Organization
Originally, the Events page displayed all events in a single repeater. While functional, it required users to scroll through unrelated listings to find what they needed.
To improve usability, we introduced categorized tabs:
Events
Classes
Baptisms
Outreach
This structural refinement significantly improved navigation and made it easier for members to quickly locate and register for specific opportunities.
Homepage Engagement Enhancements
To further streamline engagement, we implemented:
A dynamic announcement banner connected to the CMS for timely updates
Event and class previews directly on the homepage
Clear call-to-action buttons for immediate signups
These updates reduced friction and made engagement more intuitive.
Consistent, Healthy Engagement
Since launch, the site has demonstrated:
Stable and consistent traffic patterns
Strong repeat visitation from members
Improved efficiency in volunteer and class registrations
Reduced administrative strain on staff
The platform is now not just visually stronger — it’s operationally more effective.
Beyond Launch:
Ongoing Management & Communication
One of the most important aspects of this project is what happened after launch.
Sullivan Design continues to support New Hope Chapel through active website management and communication strategy.
Website Stewardship
We proactively maintain the site by:
Keeping event listings current and properly categorized
Updating and organizing the media library
Managing seasonal content and time-sensitive updates
Ensuring the site remains polished, functional, and aligned
This ensures the website continues to reflect the church accurately and professionally.
Marketing & Email Communication Support
When important events or announcements arise, we don’t simply update the website — we assist with communication strategy.
Support includes:
Writing and refining email copy
Structuring announcements for clarity
Designing clean, professional email layouts
Optimizing messaging for readability and engagement
This ensures important information reaches the congregation in an elegant and effective way.
The Bigger Picture
This project reflects a core belief at Sullivan Design: Websites are not static deliverables. They are living systems. From strategy and launch to real-time feedback implementation and long-term refinement, we partner with clients to ensure their digital presence evolves with their needs. New Hope Chapel’s website is not simply a completed project — it’s an ongoing partnership rooted in clarity, adaptability, and care. Because true success isn’t created at launch. It’s built through continued attention and refinement.
New Hope Chapel
When New Hope Chapel approached Sullivan Design, their existing site was outdated, difficult to navigate on mobile, and limited by a platform that restricted meaningful improvements. We rebuilt the site with a mobile-first structure, streamlined event organization, and simplified backend management for staff.
