The Provost Company

Building the Brand Identity & Website for The Provost Company

Background

The Provost Company was founded to provide a fresh, independent approach to real estate. With a focus on clarity, honesty, and excellent service, they wanted to position themselves as a trusted guide for clients navigating the complex process of buying, selling, or investing in homes. Their audience primarily includes people aged 40–50, but the brand needed broad appeal to anyone seeking a reliable real estate partner.

When they approached us, they needed a comprehensive brand identity and a functional, client-centered website to help them launch with confidence.

Objectives

  1. Create a professional brand identity that reflects the company’s values of trust, guidance, and community.

  2. Develop a modern, user-friendly website to educate clients, showcase listings, and offer direct access to services.

  3. Design cohesive marketing materials (yard signs, business cards, welcome packets, email signatures, etc.) for both digital and physical touchpoints.

  4. Ensure all work aligns with industry compliance requirements from EXP Realty and the Maine Real Estate Commission.

The Process

Discovery & Strategy

We began with in-depth conversations with the founders, Jon and Amy, to understand their goals, brand personality, and vision. Together we defined:

  • Core values: honesty, guidance, clarity.

  • Brand personality: direct, professional, approachable.

  • Target audience: mid-life homeowners and community members seeking trustworthy guidance.

Visual Identity Development

  • Logo: Designed a monogram logo incorporating a “P” + house silhouette, symbolizing both property and professionalism.

  • Color palette: Green (growth), and accents of orange (energy).

  • Typography: Clean, bold fonts for a contemporary and approachable look.

  • Visual theme: A distinctive “floating home” iconography style to reinforce the brand’s unique positioning.

Marketing Collateral

We extended the brand identity across multiple materials:

  • Business cards and email signatures for first impressions.

  • Real estate yard signs with clean typography and a guiding “call to action” line: “Navigate your next move.”

  • Welcome packets tailored for buyers and sellers with personalized messaging.

  • Internal brand documents including a file-use guide and compliance-ready assets.

Website Design & Development

We built a Wix Studio site that serves as a central hub for:

  • Listings integration: pulling data directly from the MLS.

  • Buying, selling, and advising service pages: written in clear, friendly language with step-by-step guides.

  • Case studies, FAQs, and testimonials: to showcase credibility and build trust.

  • Scheduling and contact options: ensuring ease of access for clients.

The design emphasizes clarity, white space, and consistent branding, while maintaining flexibility for future updates.

Client Collaboration & Refinement

Throughout the project, we worked closely with Jon and Amy:

  • Iterating designs based on feedback.

  • Guiding them through technical steps (domain, email setup, MLS integration).

  • Providing support documents and ongoing communication to ensure long-term usability of assets.

Challenges

  • MLS integration: Aligning real estate data feeds with the Wix Studio platform required research and customization.

  • Compliance: Balancing creative branding with strict real estate commission guidelines.

  • Consistency: Ensuring the identity felt cohesive across digital (website, email) and physical (yard signs, packets, business cards) platforms.

Results

  • Cohesive Brand Identity: A professional and memorable look that captures The Provost Company’s values.

  • Functional Website: A hub for listings, resources, and client engagement that is easy for the team to update.

  • Marketing Suite: A full set of assets — from yard signs to welcome packets — ready for client-facing use.

  • Confidence in Launch: Jon and Amy expressed feeling “emboldened by their brand,” equipped with tools that reflect their story and vision.

Conclusion

This project demonstrates the power of a unified brand system. By combining identity design, web development, and practical marketing materials, The Provost Company now has the tools to confidently enter the market as a trusted real estate partner. The collaboration highlighted not only design and technical execution, but also the value of guidance and partnership—the very principles at the heart of the Provost brand.
